I just want to share with you how Bali Monkey was created..In March 2016, I went home to Bali by myself for a short break from the cold and windy Dutch winter. Normally me and Merel always go back during the summer holiday but this year we decided to go road tripping through Europe. So I went home by myself for a week in march 2016 ( Merel had to work so, she couldn't join me ;P)
One Friday night during the infamous #warmupsession at the @thestrawhut in Seminyak I was just chilling, drinking and playing some dart games, with friend and family. Alex Howie (one of the owner of CPDK) a good friend of mine was also there. So after a few drinks we both kinda come up with the idea, "Hey why don't I try to put CPDK into the spotlight back in Amsterdam?" So the next day he gave me 3 snapbacks samples to bring back to Amsterdam. On the same night my sister, Aylin (owner/sole designer of STRAW) was also present @thestrawhut, so I asked her as well if she can give me few sample to bring back here.
Back in Amsterdam, I visited many retailers for CPDK and STRAW, many of them were very amazed by the quality of the products i showed, however the do ask for a lot of margin. We cant really earn anything from it, i thought...Beside my Tennis coaching profession I have always dreamed of owning a small business here in Amsterdam, so I thought why don't i start this thing by myself?! Shouldn't be to hard, i thought ;) I have good quality, stylish products which is quite affordable for European market..These things sells!
Went to Kvk office (Chamber of commerce) in Amsterdam I get shit done, working on my webshop..and now its finally ONLINE!! Thats how Bali Monkey was born!! Its just the beginning of a very long road, but I enjoy every little thing of it, and that what matters!
Now i am an officially business owner in the Netherlands! to be honest, I am quite proud :) The best is yet to come!!
